Hi my friends,
First of all, have a Nice New Year !!!!
I have a Nikon D70, a 18-70mm and 180mm 2.8 Ai MF.
Im thinking to buy this old len Nikkor AF 70-210mm, but i would like some tips and help about it.
I heard that the version D of it, 4-5.6D, is fastter than no-D version. Is it really true ?
And what about the version f/4. Is it better than 4-5.6 and D ? But i heard about it is less fast in focus than 4-5.6D too.
Who has this lens to tell me something ?
Which one is the best ?
There is a lot 4-5.6 non-D to sell here in Brasil, but D its a little more dificult and expensive.
This D, worth the extra money or the velocity of the focus from non-D its not so extraordinary.
Tks a lot.
Antonio

Gifts & Items Sent to the White House
Items sent to the White House often experience a significant delivery delay and can be irreparably harmed due to the security screening process. Therefore, please do not send items of personal importance, such as family photographs, because items may be unable to be returned. We also request that gifts of a consumable nature, such as food, flowers, and other perishable items, not be sent to the White House due to the security screening process. While the President and Mrs. Bush and Vice President and Mrs. Cheney appreciate your thoughtfulness, they request that you look instead to your local community for opportunities to assist your neighbors in need.

Can someone employed on a H1B visa do small private/independent consulting on the side in the same field of work? Or can he/she get paid as a private consultant in his/her home country while on H1B visa in the US?
As long as you are fulfilling your obligation to work full-time with your H1-B employer, there should be no problem to do additional work in your home country in your spare time (I am assuming that you will do that remotely) from an immigration point of view. However, it is a complex situation tax-wise. In general you do have to report that overseas income in your tax return and pay tax on it. Things get even more complicated if you do not bring the income back to US but keep it in your home country ...

The local San Diego USCIS office suggests that certain remedies may be available for military families facing the problem of ineligibility to adjust status because of unlawful entry by a family member seeking adjustment of status. Most often the situation occurs when a United States citizen service members spouse entered without inspection and thus cannot adjust status. Current way to fix the status is via Ciudad Juarez waiver process (I-601 waiver application (http://www.visalawyerblog.com/2008/07/san_diego_immigration_attorney_4.html)).
One potential remedy is Parole in Place, where the District Director in San Diego, Mr. Paul Pierre, can parole the alien, who then will be eligible to adjust status. Paroling only cures the issue of admission or parole under INA 245, not other inadmissibility issues. To seek Parole in Place, address the request to Mr. Pierre. Include the following:
1. Form I-131 (but it does not need to be paid for when applying)
2. Evidence of impending deployment
3. Proof of relationship of alien to the United States citizen service member
4. Evidence of hardship to the service member and how the situation affects the service members readiness to perform his or her mission in defense of the United States.
USCIS also has a program where I-601's will be adjudicated at the United States Consulate in Ciudad Juarez at the time of an immigrant visa interview for the relatives of service members. Mr. Pierre also has the authority to grant Deferred Action. (Regarding issues of admission for adjustment of status purposes, read Sum v. Holder, 602 F.3d 1092 (9th Cir. 2010).) A# wont start with EAC..
Read above post, It is a number starting with A and looks like A099 XXX XXX usually found on I140. I dont think this number is alloted anytime before an immigrant petition is filed.
MRSR question for you. My sons/wifes I94# is different based on actual I94 (last entry) and H4 approval notices (done after entry). Mine remained same. Dilemma which number should i use in their forms.

Thanks very much for your answer. i have one more question :)
what should be correct answer for following question:
Have you made any specific plans?
If i select Yes, then it gives following option:
'intended date of arrival to US' and intended date to return back from US'
If i select No, then it gives following option:
'intended date of arrival to US'

I did about 3 APs and EADs myself this is not so important. I had left it blank. The most important thing I remember is my EAD got rejected was when I picked the wrong section for the Basis of EAD (which is a bunch of codes). Please make sure you pick the right one here, if your in doubt dont fill the form till you know the exact answer.
Hope that helps.

Hello Gurus,
I have got my wife passport stamped(H4) until Oct'09 based on my previous H1. I have changed company and got new I-797 for both of us valid till Apr'2010. During her recent visit to India and return to USA, at the port of entry she was issued I-94 till Oct'2009 eventhough her I-797 form my new employer is valid till Feb'2010.
I don't want to ask my wife to cross the broder (@Mexico or @Canada) for the sake of renewing her I-94. I am wondering if I can apply with USCIS for her extension of I-94 till April'2010 for which she has I-797 to support it.
Thanks

Very few members are intrested in discussing H1B as most IV members are on EAD.

Nice composition. Lighting seems a little flat/dead and it needs a little more sky detail. Did a minor bit of processing to see if I could make it better. See what you think.

option 3 as far as I know. You only renew the 6 year term if you are out of the US more than a year. And once you switch to a different visa category, your previous one does not matter for the cap. Its only if you are transferring from an existing H1B or renewing an existing H1B that the cap doesn't come into the picture.

One of my friend is ready to apply for 485. He is all set.
The problem is he got recently married and his wife's passport and other details are not yet ready and she is still in India.
Can he still submit his 485 for his wife?
Gurus, any help / suggestions is appreciated.
