HI All,
My H1 will expire by the end of October and my employer has applied for LCA on First week of Sept and it got denied. (the status on iCert shows as Denied). My employer has sent the FEIN Info and waiting for info from DOL.
I am not sure how long we will wait for DOL to respond back on this .. Do we need to reapply for LCS as i need to apply for H1-extn before end of October..
Could Pls some one suggest the best course of action..

Anybody filed your H1 ext yourself? Is it worth it?
This will be my 12th yr extension. I have the previous extension papers (copies) that the lawyer sent me, so i was thinking i can look at those and draft a new ext myself. But with the latest news of H1 denied for consulting companies, is it worth doing it myself? I have worked for the same client for the last 11 yrs.
Everybody else would also like to do the same thing. Instead of Paying 3500 dollars to the attorney plus other fees by the employer. I feel its good to do it by yourself. If you have anything wrong USCIS would contact you back and you can reply on those. if it becomes a major thing, then you can hire a attorney.
I feel someone should post all the steps to file
1. H1B transfer
2. EAD
3. AP
4. I-485 (As for EB-I it would take a long time)
5. All other forms
Its not worth paying the attorneys for such a long time. Let USCIS take the trouble of correcting our errors

Yes, what is this security clearance? I have applied for H1B renewal after 3 years on July 23rd (my receipt date) of 2007, and this still has not been processed and sent. I was told it has been sent for security clearance. I am here in US working without H1B visa after 7 months of my H1B visa expiry while my renewal is still pending as of today (03/07/08). Does anyone have an idea when is this going to be processed and will I ever get my work visa renewed ?

My wife had concived for 3 days in June. During immigration medical exams Doctor gave her MMR shots and stated don't get pregnant for another 3 months.
After 15 days, We came to know that she is pregnant.
last week my wife had miscarriage after 18 weeks of pregnancy. Not sure it's because of MMR or something else.

Downey said: I probably should have seen there was a sign that said 'No Felons Allowed' in English and Japanese and I haven't had that expunged yet," he said. "You can actually get things expunged but I've been pretty busy. So I was detained, I was interrogated. It was a blast.

While I certainly feel somewhat bad for Mr. Downey, this short exchange gave the impression that nothing similar would ever happen in America! Hah!
U.S. Immigration Law contains restrictions that bar entry to people forever, for virtually any youthful indiscretion they have ever had, e.g. simple possession of a marijuana 20 years ago, without regard to whether or not you were actually convicted of the crime! You do not even need to have been convicted; the fact that you admit you did it will also get you barred from entry. Heck you will even be bounced (http://www.markshuttleworth.com/archives/43) from the United States after overstaying your visa for one day, leaving one day late, and then trying to come back in on that visa. My wife is currently in the US and since my PD is current we need to file her I-485. We are trying to self file and would like to know what documents do we need to provide to prove that she successfully fullfilled her 2 year home residency requirement (HRR). She left the US in January 15, 2006 and came back on H4 in February 8, 2008.
The fact that she was granted H4 visa implies that she has fullfilled the 2 year HRR but our attorney said that she needs to prove that my wife did indeed fullfill this requirement.
Has anyone been in this position?
Please advise.

Anyway, you can include your wife's paystub from the employer if she was working, university records if she was studying, etc., when she was outside USA. However, I am not sure if any of these is needed since the passport is sufficient for establishing her period of absence.

You can also extend the H1b...if your labor is filed 365 days prior to your H1b expiraton...
You are looking atleast 21 months into future...there are so many things that can happen...
140 rejection may not be an issue... but in case your worst fear comes true...you will be alright if it's rejected before feb 2008.
Even then there are other ways around this problem...

I'm interested in purchasing a better Nikon Zoom lens for my D70s. I have the 18-70 DX lens (which is great), but I also have the basic 55-200mm zoom (which I am not happy with). I've been searching online for a 70-300 Nikon lens & I can't figure out which one to get. There's the 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED AF Zoom-Nikkor & the 70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF Zoom-Nikkor. Which is the better model, the D series or the G series? I'd like to get the new 70-300 VR, but my pocket can't handle that right now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The town we are in only has a community college only, my spouse is an engineer and they have nothing to offer... Small town restricts her chances to be hired on H1 too.
Biggest reason for taking up the new job is to be able to access the above options.....:(

Hi,
My wife came to US on H4 and changed to F1 status thru COS. She is doing Masters 2nd semester and went for F1 visa stamping this week in India. She got 221(g) pink slip asking explain her projects, plans afer study etc. Visa officier withheld her passport and I20.
BTW the way I am on H1B and provided all the financial support documents.
I searched the online didnt any F1 getting 221(g) pink.
1)If anyone else got this for F1 please share your experiences and any tips.
2)How long it takes after repsonding to thier queries
3)what are the chances getting visa after getting 221(g) pink
4) Do you suggest getting any professional in drafting the reponse to te queries.. if so do you know any one in Hyderabad, India
